Santa Fe

It’s all about timing. To avoid crowds and inflated prices, we recommend the period between high and low seasons when the weather is fine, places are still open and happy to welcome travelers, and you can explore a destination at your own pace. ShermansTravel experts call this magical time and space continuum the Sweet Spot.

When to go to Santa Fe

Peak Season: May to August

It's family season, days are hot and dry, and affordable rooms are scarce. The good news: evenings are cool and the shops and museums can accommodate everyone.

Off Season: September to November

This is the best time to visit New Mexico. Fall means thinner crowds, cooler days, lower rates and, beginning in October, fall color.

Sweet Spot: December to April

Good snowfall, sunny days, and families on holiday spell crowds, but many properties offer worthwhile ski and stay package deals during this time. Go in spring when the yucca flowers are in bloom, one of the reasons why Santa Fe is on our list of Top 10 Quick Spring Getaways.
