At NU Hotel in downtown Brooklyn, unveiled in July 2008, the 93 rooms are the ultimate in urban chic – understated, swank, and eco-friendly. Each unit has cork flooring, organic and 100-percent cotton linens, and recycled teak furnishings. Bathrooms are equipped with a chalkboard wall where guests can jot down their creative ideas in a fit of inspiration. There's even a suite with a designer hammock for those lazy Brooklyn afternoons.
