One of Oregon wine country's newest luxury resorts, The Allison Inn & Spa in Newburg debuted September 2009 with one of the largest spas in the Pacific Northwest and luxe, eco-friendly rooms featuring copper-tiled fireplaces and handcrafted furnishings made from Oregon walnut.

The Oregon Trail led 19th-century pioneers to the Willamette Valley, and modern-day travelers still flock there, though now it’s for the pinots. This lauded wine region, less than an hour’s drive south of Portland, is home to what may be the state’s most sophisticated lodgings. The Allison’s 85 amenity-stuffed rooms sport a clean, earthy palette and vistas of vineyard-covered hills. Vast bathrooms with soaking tubs prepare guests for the state-of-the-art spa, with 12 treatment rooms.
