It’s all about timing. To avoid crowds and inflated prices, we recommend the period between high and low seasons when the weather is fine, places are still open and happy to welcome travelers, and you can explore a destination at your own pace. ShermansTravel experts call this magical time and space continuum the Sweet Spot.

When to go to Hilton Head

Peak Season: mid-March to mid-August

Tourists don’t seem to mind the heat and humidity – families load up the wagon and drive to the island in droves, driving up prices while they’re at it.

Off Season: Late-October to early-March

The water is too cold for swimming, but the weather is mild enough to enjoy Hilton Head’s other attractions. Prices are lowest this time of year.

Sweet Spot: September to early-October

You’ll have the greens and sand all to yourself; plus great weather and reasonable prices.
