Dallas Money-Saving Tips

Stadium Tour

If a Cowboys game doesn’t fit into your schedule, opt for quiet, guided visit to the team’s massive stadium in Arlington. Tours are available daily starting at $17.50, and they give an up-close look at the arena’s many superlatives – the most distinct of which might be the 22-piece collection of museum-quality contemporary art decking the complex’s walls and foyers.

Where Am I?

The distinctive Reunion Tower serves as an excellent landmark for tourists unfamiliar with the city; its dandelion shape stands out from the other skyscrapers.

Play it Safe

Avoid South Dallas at night.

Fry in the Fall

In October, the Texas State Fair offers 24 days of rides, races, football, and famous fried fare, from corn dogs to Snickers.

Pick up a Party Pass

The Cowboys Stadium has seats for some 80,000 fans, but capacity reaches six figures when the standing-room-only “Party Passes” fill up. Purchase one of these tickets, which start at $29, if you’d rather not splurge on a full-price seat – or if you plan to stand and cheer the entire game, anyway.

Scope Out Shuttle Services

To skip the hefty parking fees at Cowboys Stadium – on-site spots cost as much as $75 and even distant public lots get away with charging $40 – consider booking a shuttle with one of several area restaurants. Humperdink’s (www.humperdinks.com) and J.Gilligan’s (www.jgilligans.com) each run round-trip shuttles for $10 and $7, respectively; Olenjack’s Grille (www.olenjacksgrille.com) operates free rides for customers on game days (as long as you spend $40 or more at the restaurant).
