Peak season doesn't always mean exorbitant rates – especially with the latest series of Kimpton hotel deals. You do need to be an InTouch member and book by May 31, but the loyalty program is free to join (and includes perks like free WiFi and $10 minibar credit). Some of our favorites:

We always love a straightforward 20% off, like at two Chicago properties this summer. We saw some particularly nice rates at Allegro Chicago, right next to the Cadillac Theater in the Windy City's downtown, where there's currently availability on most days in the coming months. Sample weekend rates are as low as $128 per night in May, $168 in June, and $144 in July. As far as weekends go at Palomar Chicago, situated in the River North neighborhood, known for its trendy restaurants and bars, rooms are sold out for the upcoming month except this weekend ($168). But plenty of rates between $192 and $248 are still up for grabs in June and July.

At Palomar San Francisco, all rates have a slightly smaller discount at 15% off – but hungry travelers will also enjoy a $50 dining credit. Rates run the gamut from $170 to $297 through August, with most hovering around the low $200s in the earlier months and the mid $200s later in that period. The property sits right on the edge of Union Square and boasts spacious, recently updated rooms. That said, other parts of the hotel is still undergoing renovations, so call ahead about your room location if you're concerned about  noise.

Love a good off-season discount? If you can stand the heat, Palamor Phoenix, right among downtown's restaurants and bars, boasts weekend rates between $149 and $179 and weekday rates that don't go over $219. Over in Old Town Scottsdale in the Sonoran Desert, rooms at Firesky Resort & Spa in Scottsdale can be had for $109-$159. To make the deal sweeter, guests at both properties also enjoy $25 dining credit daily – we recommend you spend that on some icy cool drinks.

These rates are all prepaid and non-refundable. And, as Kimpton says, "dreaded blackout dates" like Memorial Day weekend apply, but at least they're upfront and humorous about it. To see other Kimpton deals, visit their website.
