The legendary Palm Beach area in Florida can be pricey. After all, it's where millionaires and billionaires come to see and be seen. But you don't need a checking account with seven figures to get a taste of the luxury they enjoy.

Setting up a home base at the Palm Beach Marriott Singer Island Beach Resort & Spa is a great way to be close to the action and the jet set crowd -- but still feel at ease and skip the traffic and congestion of the most populated spots. The luxurious all-suite condominium property is located on an oceanfront of Riviera Beach, just a short drive away from Palm Beach. One- and two-bedroom digs start at just $250 for two to four guests, making the AAA four-diamond resort affordable for couples, families, reunions, and even girlfriend getaways -- especially if you crave more space than a standard hotel room offers, you'll feel right at home. Here's why we loved it during a recent stay, and why we think you will too:

You'll Want to Move In
All suites feature fully stocked kitchens that were nicer than ours at home, along with a washer and dryer. Expansive marble bathrooms with separate bathtubs and showers lent a spa-like atmosphere. The walk-in closets weren't necessary for our brief stay, but the large living room and ocean-view balcony were at the epicenter for our relaxation.

Turtle Talk
Situated along one of the world's most populous sea turtle nesting sites, nighttime turtle walks on the resort's beach are complimentary during nesting season. (In fact, a plush sea turtle can be found in every suite, highlighting the need for conservation of the endangered species.) There's no need to book turtle experiences months in advance, unlike at state parks; you can simply roll out of bed to witness the spectacle.

Steps to Snorkel
A much-larger-than-normal expanse of white sand beach leads to a natural snorkeling reef just feet from the shore. This is a pleasant surprise considering most snorkeling locations are a distance from the beach.

Waterfalls or Fountains?
Perhaps one of the toughest choices at the resort is whether to lounge by the pools or the beach. A giant slide underneath a massive waterfall tempts all ages in one pool. We delighted in swimming underneath graceful plumes of water arching into the serene pool -- complete with ocean views.

Nosh For Less
Grab a seat in the fine dining 3800 Ocean lounge on weekdays between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. and snag "buy one, get one free" savings on the lounge menu.
