5 Cool, Totally Random Cruise Ship Cabins

by John Roberts

Cruise ships are built to maximize onboard space — and that mass production means that, as long as you booked in the same category, your stateroom should be a carbon copy of your neighbor’s. But there are exceptions, and they’re worth seeking out. Snag one of these cruise cabins to stand out from the crowd on your next sailing:

Want to gaze out to sea au naturel? The Reflection Suite on Celebrity Reflection has, in addition to a balcony with a hot tub, an all-glass shower that cantilevers over the edge of the ship — a first at sea.

5. Go Ahead and Moo-ve In

Cabin 6305 on Freedom of the Seas, Liberty of the Seas, and Independence of the Seas looks out to the Royal Promenade. These inside cabins have an obstructed view — of the rumps of the two cows perched above the Ben & Jerry’s shop. But Royal Caribbean turned these into the Ben & Jerry's “Sweets,” decking them out in a cute cow theme and giving occupants tickets for complimentary ice cream (Cherry Garcia, anyone?).
