Waiting in line at the TSA checkpoint is about as much fun as paying baggage fees, but it helps when you wear clothing that’s versatile enough to do all sorts of things,  including saving you some money while you’re on the go.

Here are five fall jackets that will make travel a lot more practical and stylish.

Supernatural Combustion Cloud Max Jacket 340 (prices vary)

Making its North American debut this fall is a company which takes the sweat out of flying, with merino wool clothing mixed with synthetic fibers  and thermo regulation technology that prevents your body from overheating or cooling too rapidly. Try the Men’s and Women’s Combustion Cloud Max Jacket 340, which will also keep your body warm in the often chilly skies (the products drip-dry fast too). Because it has a hoodie, it will save you the added exasperation of bringing a scarf.

Spirit of the Road Enzyme Jacket ($168)

This enzyme-washed jacket will help you save money on spilled milk, literally. It’s easier to clean stains off this wash, and the stylish fringe leather jacket with double zip pockets will also help keep your hands warm when you fly.

Lululemon Mobility Jacket ($248)

Like an onion’s layer, this mobility jacket for men is a dual soft-shell and hard-shell combination with sleeves and Twill front and back panels that will also keep you dry. It also has a handy hidden pocket just for a passport (with a two-way zipper for snap-dash access), which makes this a TSA-friendly keeper.

Flow State Hoody ($169)

Windstopper fabric technology makes this stretchy, breathable hoodie perfect for layering under a shell or worn alone. Think of it as wearing your own personalized microclimate as you soar above 30,000 feet. The flow state hoodie gives you a bit of a layering too, so you can ditch your tees at home and just use this.

Merika Wind Breaker ($285)

The light-weight windbreaker is probably one of the most crinkly, shiny jackets you’ll see, and its 100% polyester frame that zips up and belts across will make you not only the most enviable traveler, but also one of the smarter ones too (it has plenty of pockets for gadget items you’d rather not check in; the extra room will help you save some fees).
