San Francisco is full of beautiful, historic hotels that can cost you a fortune. While location is especially important in this city, it can be hard to find affordable accommodation in the main tourist areas. Luckily for you, we’ve found a range of properties that will fit your budget, and they're also centrally located and offer great value. Here are five of our picks so you can spend your money on important things... like that second trip to In-N-Out.

The Huntington Hotel

With rates from $250 per night, The Huntington Hotel is one of the more expensive properties on our list, but it offers solid value. This property is situated near Union Square, just outside the Embarcadero. Each room is decorated with accents like velvet chairs, canopy beds, and gold-trimmed bureaus. On site, you will find The Big 4, a restaurant and bar that looks as though it was plucked out of the 19th-century: an ode to the railroad tycoons that give the hotel its name. Often compared to the Fairmont, the Huntington Hotel comes at a lower price with similar amenities and an even more unique feel.

The Villa Florence Hotel

Priced from $139 per night and located right off of Union Square, The Villa Florence Hotel is designed to mimic the villas of Florence. Here, perks include recently renovated rooms, an expanded fitness center, and free wifi. We especially love the deals this hotel offers, like saving 20 percent by booking directly on their site, or saving an extra 10 percent on trips booked for 4 nights or more. There’s even a Giotto-style fountain in the main lobby.

The Nob Hill Hotel

Starting at $137 per night, this hotel is located in the scenic Nob Hill area. The ornately decorated, Victorian-themed rooms have a homey, relaxing feel that's ideal for winding down after a day walking the city's hills. Plus, the property is located right by Union Square, Market Street, and Chinatown. Amenities include free wifi, a fitness center, and complimentary wine and cheese from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The hotel is also in walking distance to Polk Street, a local hangout with a slew of bars, restaurants, and shopping -- as well as the famed Swan Oyster Depot

The Stanford Court

This modern hotel starts at just $142 per night, which makes it one of the more affordable properties in the central Nob Hill location. Here, the rooms are spacious and tech-savvy. The hotel also rewards guests for booking directly through their site (where you can find the best deal). Additionally, the property has an array of offers available now, including the Night Owl Special, which includes a $30 credit to use on some late-night food, late check-out, and more.

The Marker Hotel

Priced from $160 per night, The Marker Hotel is a luxury boutique hotel that, like many of the other properties on this list, offers deals when you book directly on their site (right now, they're offering 30% off their best available rate). Free wifi, complimentary daily wine reception, and bike rentals make this hotel a great place to stay. The luxury room accommodations include Jonathan Adler toiletries and plush pillow-top queen beds. We especially love the on-site restaurant, Trattowhich serves family-style Italian dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
