Its Lincoln Park ZooLights package, with nightly rates from $134 and valid for travel through January 3, comes with free entry to the zoo's ice skating rink as well as skate rentals, $25 valet parking (discounted from $49), a holiday ornament, and hot chocolate from the hotel's retro-cool Elaine's Coffee Call. Another bonus: Visiting this time of the year means enjoying the zoo's spectacular ZooLights, on display nightly except for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Snug in the Loop with shopping and theater right beyond its doors,  this 122-room Kimpton hotel has a new package to get travelers into the spirit of the season. Included in the Holiday Lights promotion are two tickets for the Chicago Architecture Foundation’s Holiday Lights, City Lights heated trolley tour, typically $30 each, plus hot chocolate paired with chocolate stout cake at the hotel’s historic Atwood Restaurant. Promo rates are $189-$249 a night through December 28, with minimum seven-day advance purchase.
