It’s never too early to start thinking about summer vacations, especially after the winter we were just walloped by. If you’re on the search for a warm weather oasis that’s filled with palm trees and water features, you just might like California’s JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort and Spa. And we bet that its Your Summer Selfie package, with rates starting at $169 per night, provides more than enough to put a smile on your face.

For travel from June 1 to September 30, the package includes a $50 resort credit per night and a selfie stick to use however you wish. (Might we suggest some poolside shots or ones with the sunset as a backdrop to make your friends back at home jealous?) We found plenty of standard rooms with either one king bed or two double beds for $169 per night on most weekdays and Sundays throughout the valid travel period. Some exceptions include bookings for September 13-17, when the rate jumped to $229. Friday and Saturday night stays are significantly more expensive, going for at least $229 as well --- so opting for a weeknight stay is definitely the best way to reap those savings.

It's worth noting that non-package room rates might be slightly lower. For a stay on July 23-24, for example, we saw that a standard room is $139. While that’s a $30 difference from the Your Summer Selfie package, don’t forget that it doesn’t include the $50 resort credit per night and selfie stick -- which you do get to keep as a souvenir. The retail price of a selfie stick can account for that $30 difference, so you're essentially getting those credits for free.
