After New Year’s Eve celebrations come to a halt in Las Vegas, hotels experience a slowdown. That all translates to rock-bottom rates from $39 in January, which you’ll find at these three newer or recently renovated properties situated in prime locations on the Strip.

From $39: The Linq Hotel & Casino
Just over a year ago, the 2,640-room Linq (formerly Imperial Palace) opened following a $223 million renovation that introduced a notable feature: the High Roller, the world’s tallest observation wheel. In January, we found rates from $39 in rooms with two double beds on the nights of January 3, 4, and 10-14. Want to stay later in the month? Rooms are priced from $45-$55 January 24-28 and 31. Compared to March weekends, when rates are $134-$245, the $89-$95 rates that we found on January 9, 15, and 17 are worth considering, too.

From $89: Tropicana Las Vegas
Four years ago, this property underwent a $200 million renovation that gave it a new South Beach-look that extends to the rooms, as well as a redesign of its 50,000-square-foot casino. Rates for rooms with one king bed go from $89-$99 on January 3, 4, 10, 11, 24, 29, 30, and 31; and $109-$119 on January 13, 14, 22, 23, and 25. Want to visit in March or April? Expect rates of $139 and higher.

From $139: Caesars Palace Las Vegas Hotel & Casino
Check into this Vegas staple and experience the new $75 million, 587-room Julius Tower that’s opening on January 1 as part of the hotel’s 50th anniversary. We were able to find king bed rooms with incredible rates from $129-$149 on January 3, 4, 10, 11-14, and 28. Otherwise, rates in January are between $225 and $279 -- and go as high as $439 on select nights in March.

Good to know: Two major trade shows, the International Consumer Electronics Show and the International Builders show fall on January 5-9 and January 19-21, respectively, resulting in inflated hotel prices as thousands flock to the city.
