The summer isn’t over yet, and the beach may be calling out to you like a siren. Luckily, Anguilla is enticing last-minute travelers to come to the Eastern Caribbean island in August with hotel rates as low as $99. This includes a crop of micro hotels and bed-and-breakfasts -- a refreshing change for those who want a change from the large-scale resorts. Pro tip: Visit in the first two weeks of the month, before all the seasonal attractions take a break for the fall.

Lloyd’s Bed and Breakfast: $99
Behind the yellow exterior at this bed-and-breakfast are nine rooms, open since 1959. The rooms are each uniquely decorated with bright colors like lime, yellow, and aqua, with local art on the walls, and the $99 rate includes breakfast. An art gallery, bars and restaurants are a short walk away. We love that the prices here remain the same throughout the year.

Ferryboat Inn: $140
Located in Blowing Point, this property provides apartments with full kitchens and balconies overlooking the water. And it's one where visiting in the off-season pays off: After December 20, the $140 rate (for a one-bedroom, one-bath apartment) climbs to $230 -- and won't drop again until April 16. A restaurant on-site serves both lunch and dinner, with nightly specials featuring curry and wings.

Patsy’s Seaside Villas: $130-$150
At this six-room property, you’ll feel like you’re bunking at a friend’s place. Bonus: It’s right on the beach. Choose from one- and two-bedroom villa-style apartments, each uniquely decorated in colors inspired by the natural surroundings. The village of Blowing Point is a quick walk up the road. The $130-$150 rate is available year-round.

Anacaona Boutique Hotel: $170
Tucked into the island’s West End, and overlooking Meads Bay, this adorable hotel sets 20 rooms and seven suites among beautiful tropical gardens. Two swimming pools, a spa, and a hydrotherapy clinic cater to wellness travelers, and there is also a poolside eclectic restaurant with folklore shows on Thursday. The rates, as low as $170 in August, are based on double-occupancy.
