At these five-star yoga retreats, the focus may be on your yoga practice and your inner life, but you won’t do without creature comforts.

WEEKLONG YOGA RETREAT
ELENA BROWER AT PARROT CAY, TURKS & CAICOS
OCTOBER 24-30, 2010

Elena Brower (pictured above; photo courtesy of Art of Attention) is one of New York City’s most popular yoga teachers – less for her celebrity clientele (although she teaches Gwyneth Paltrow and Naomi Watts) and more for how she uses the practice of anusara (heart-opening) yoga as method for greater self-awareness and healing. Expect five hours of yoga daily (three in the morning and two in the afternoon) punctuated by meals with healthy Como Shambhala cuisine (some of the best spa cuisine I’ve tasted) and time at the excellent Balinese-inspired spa. The small class size means guests will get direct interaction and feedback with Brower. Classes are held in a beautiful glass-walled pavilion.

The weeklong program called Anusara Yoga: From Awareness to Acceptance includes six nights’ accommodation, most meals, and airport transfers. Single occupancy rates start at $5,728. Bring a friend and mention “Retreat with Friends” when booking a spot, and receive a 10 percent discount. www.parrotcay.como.bz

Mandy Ingber (left; photo courtesy of Mandy Ingber), a top Los Angeles yoga teacher, is known for teaching celebrities like Jennifer Aniston and has become a celebrity herself. She’s headlining a Miami Yoga Weekend at The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Miami, which incorporates Yogalosophy, a mind-body method and practice that Ingber created.

The two-night retreat at the Mandarin Oriental  will include a VisionMat workshop – like a vision board of pictures of your goals and aspirations – plus a group session about astrological influences and wellness, morning and evening yoga sessions (breaks will include light refreshments and healthy snacks), breakfast daily, and choice of one 80-minute select spa treatment (including Aroma Stone, Aromatherapy Massage, Therapeutic Massage, Holistic Facial) at the gorgeous spa, which has VIP treatment suites with floor-to-ceiling windows some of Miami’s best-trained therapists.

Rates are from $1,675 (single occupancy) and $2,385 (double occupancy). For more information or reservations, call 305-913-8383 or 866-888-6780 or visit www.mandarinoriental.com/miami.
