Feasting and fearless, when it comes to curious cuisine, Andrew Zimmern has seen and eaten it all (with no regrets, he tells us). His new season of Bizarre Foods will premiere on Travel Channel October 27 at 9 p.m. EST -- which means more of what we love: interesting eats in some pretty cool places. Though he’s globe-trotted near and far, there is one destination he’s dying to visit and something he’s taken home that can never be replaced.

Think you can guess where and what they are? Check out our one-on-one interview with the king of consuming suspicious snacks.

Q: Where is your favorite place to travel?
A: Botswana, for the amazing people, great wildlife, and a real sense of adventure. China, for sure, is my favorite place to go when I want to truly lose myself in another culture.

Q: Where haven't you been that you would like to go?
A: Poland! I want to go to Poland.

Q: Where did you last travel and what did you do there?
A: I was in Kona. I fished, dove for prawns in the Waipio Valley, ranched up in Kahua, I ate some incredible seafood and beef, and lots of laulau pork.

Q:  Do you prefer traveling solo or with someone?
A: Solo. It’s more immersive, and I meet people more handily.

Q: What is your favorite dish to eat abroad, and where do you find it?
A: Too many choices! Mary's Laksa stand in Singapore for the laksa. Birdland in Tokyo for the yakitori.

Q: What are your essential carry-on items?
A: All my chargers and batteries, because I can't stand being disconnected.

Q: What snacks do you pack for flying?
A: Necco Wafers. Hands down.

Q: What is the coolest souvenir you've bought while abroad?
A: Probably the tribal gifts, like my bow and arrows that I got from the Kalahari Bushmen. They're hanging in my living room. But the real takeaway from travel is new perspective that leads to new ways of thinking and new behavior in my own life.
