Located on State Street, at the northern end of the Loop, theWit hotel (boasting an exemplary Sherman Meter hotel rating of 83%) has already become one of Chicago’s hippest hangouts — its astutely named rooftop bar, Roof, attracts a churning swarm of in-the-know gadabouts. Now, with the opening of the hotel’s mezzanine-level Phoenix Lounge, acrophobic bibbers can join in the fun. The upscale lounge promises to make up for its lack of skyline views with live performances by local and emerging artists every Thursday through Saturday from 6:30 to 10:30pm. Handcrafted cocktails and Mediterranean-inspired small plates are also on offer.
