New York City rooftop space is a rare breed of real estate, but it seems the kitschy Pod Hotel in Midtown has lucked out with several prime open-air perches. Through April 25, guests can stake out the rooftop lounge and garden, and outdoor café, starting from just $99 per night and receive two tickets per booking to the “Abstract Expressionist New York” exhibit at the Modern Museum of Art (located just four avenues west of the hotel). Recognized for its 1950s mod décor and unique room offerings, the Pod’s accommodations range from a nostalgic Bunk Pod (two bunk beds, complete with a flat-screen television per bed, headphones, free WiFi, and a dimmer control light system), to the ironically-named, fairly standard Odd Pod (two double beds), to the Single Pod (one double bed), and more.
THE VALUE: Springtime hotel prices in New York skyrocket to up to $400 per night, compared to The Pod Hotel's $99.
