Opened in 1975, the Viceroy L’Ermitage Beverly Hills has been a favorite among celebrities and well-heeled travelers seeking luxury in Los Angeles. L'Ermitage is French for hermitage, and this property is considered a calming, luxurious, and extremely private respite on a tucked-away, tree-lined residential street less than a mile from Rodeo Drive. The hotel is made up of all-suite guest rooms; there’s a European-inspired rooftop swimming pool; and the spa is fantastic. Here’s our review of the Viceroy L’Ermitage.

What You Need to Know

The Look

It's All in the Details

The hotel epitomizes understated luxury; every suite offers a load of privacy and feels exclusive. Residential suites come with custom-designed furniture, large dressing rooms, bathrooms, and private French door balconies that open to views of the city and the Hollywood Hills. All suites have large marble bathrooms with high-end amenities and televisions.

The Vibe

L'Ermitage is an oasis of tranquility close to the city – and it’s easy to see why the hotel is a favorite of both celebs and those looking to relax. The grounds are secluded, but there’s plenty to do, if that’s what you’re looking for: go for a dip in the lovely rooftop pool and tuck into its great dining or simply a well-made cocktail.

Who Will Love It

Discerning tourists, celebrities, or those seeking privacy will appreciate a stay away from the bustle of Los Angeles, all while having easy access to the city.

Who Might Not

Tourists craving a big-box property in the thick of it all might be happier in a different location.

Best Amenity

The pool affords 360-degree views of the city and private cabanas. Order a poolside drink to sip on your comfy lounger.
