Is this the most luxurious suite at sea?

Luxury cruise ships offer a wide variety of decadent, over-the-top staterooms that rival the ones on land. But now, Regent Seven Seas has launched its newest ship, Seven Seas Explorer, with what has been called "the most luxurious suite at sea."

With a $5,000 per person per night price tag (or $70,000 total for the ship’s shortest seven-night itinerary), the 2,917-square-foot cabin is certainly the priciest — and buzziest — suite available. Regent added a 14th deck to the ship with this spacious suite in mind, and a 958-square-foot private wraparound balcony offers 270-degree views.

The suite’s designers, Tillberg Design of Sweden, drew inspiration from the homes of wealthy Hamptonites in New York. Handmade chandeliers, beautiful natural stonework, and museum-quality artwork make the suite a standout.

And to call the art museum-quality is not overstating here: Picasso lithographs hang on either side of the entrance doors, greeting guests as they arrive. In the entryway, you’ll see the first of three crystal chandeliers from the Czech Republic. The other two are in the master bedroom and the living room. Also in the living room is a custom piano: The $250,000 Dakota Jackson-designed Steinway Arabesque is one of a kind and fit for a professional concert.

Floor-to-ceiling windows in the master bedroom (one of two bedrooms in the suite) give guests a view of the ocean over the ship’s bow from the custom $150,000 Savoir king-sized bed.

True spa lovers would be happy booking the suite for the master bathroom alone. The oversized space was designed as an in-suite Canyon Ranch spa with two saunas, indoor and outdoor hot tubs, heated ceramic lounge chairs, and a treatment area. The best part: unlimited spa treatments are included with a stay in the suite.

Additional perks include butler service, a personalized full bar, unlimited laundry and pressing services, and guaranteed reservations in any onboard restaurant. Guests also get a private driver and tour guide to show them around every port of call and private transfers to and from the airport.
