Launched in July 2016, the 750-passenger Seven Seas Explorer is, according to the line, the most luxurious ship ever built. Naturally, there’s a lot of curiosity around what such a ship would look like. And while the public spaces shine with lavish lighting and stately finishings, the ship is perhaps more tasteful and understated than you might expect. Still, more than 450 crystal chandeliers sparkle on board, and nearly an acre of marble and another of granite shine throughout the ship. With 2,500 pieces of art on board, including works by Joan Miró, Pablo Picasso, and Marc Chagall, Explorer’s collection rivals that of contemporary museums. 

Spread among seven of the ship’s 10 guest decks are 375 suites in 10 cabin categories, many with massive walk-in closets and separate bathtubs and showers. Passengers with deep pockets can splurge on the lavish Regent Suite, which is, at a whopping 4,443 square feet, the most decadent accommodation. Decked out with a $250,000 custom Steinway piano, a $150,000 master bed, 270-degree views from the ship’s bow, and a $10,000 per night price tag, this decadent suite has its own in-cabin spa and a large wraparound deck with a whirlpool tub and a large dining table.
