British cruise line Cunard is now taking bookings for same-sex marriages on its three ships, after a recent Supreme Court ruling in Bermuda (where Cunard’s fleet is registered) allowing same-sex couples to marry.

Ceremonies will be performed onboard by the ship’s captain or deputy captain, with marriage licenses issued by Bermuda.

Cunard and P&O Cruises, both owned by parent company Carnival Corporation, are the first British cruise lines to offer same-sex marriages at sea. A third line under Carnival — Princess Cruises— has announced plans to do the same with its 13 ships registered in the Bahamas and is expected to release information shortly.

Many mainstream American cruise lines — including Norwegian Cruise Line, Celebrity Cruises, Royal Caribbean, and Carnival Cruise Line —currently marry same-sex couples on land in ports where the marriage is recognized by law. That includes all 50 states, Puerto Rico, Canada, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Bonaire.

Cunard’s wedding package costs $3,400 on Queen Mary 2, and includes (among other extras) Champagne, a photographer, flowers, invitations, and thank you notes.
