Airports

Three airports service the Outback: Darwin International Airport (DRW), and Ayers Rock (AYQ) and Alice Springs (ASP) domestic airports. Most flights from the U.S. depart from Los Angeles (LAX) and connect via Brisbane International Airport (BNE) or Sydney Kingsford-Smith Airport (SYD).

Airlines

Darwin is served internationally Qantas, but Continental Airlines, US Airways, and United also offer connecting flights. Domestic carriers include Qantas, Jetstar, and Virgin Blue.

Flight Times

22-30 hours from Los Angeles to Darwin (including at least one stop); 31-38 hours from New York (including at least two stops).
