When to go to Phnom Penh

Peak Season: December to January

The cool and relatively dry seasons of December and January – plan for temperatures in the 70s – are the most pleasant months to visit Phnom Penh. Of course, the ideal weather also means that key sights are more crowded and prices higher.

Off Season: May to October

Temperatures can reach as high as 104 degrees during these months. May and June is monsoon season, with high humidity and lots of rain. Rural roads can be difficult to pass until the end of October due to the rainfall.

Sweet Spot: November; February to April

Lower prices and fewer crowds make these months, in between the busy peak season and the rainy off season, a pleasant time to travel to Phnom Penh. Expect temperatures in the mid-70s.
