Le Massif

Le Massif: François Piché
It’s all about timing. To avoid crowds and inflated prices, we recommend the period between high and low seasons when the weather is fine, places are still open and happy to welcome travelers, and you can explore a destination at your own pace. ShermansTravel experts call this magical time and space continuum the Sweet Spot.

When to go to Le Massif

Peak Season: December to mid-February

The highest vertical east of the Canadian Rockies, Le Massif, outside Quebec City, is still being developed, so there’s less lodging than at other ski areas – during peak times, book in advance.

Off Season: April to November

There are some hiking trails and more activities are projected, but for now, Le Massif is mostly a winter destination only.

Sweet Spot: Mid-February to March

Le Massif’s natural snowpack is often eight feet, so late-season skiing is very good. On certain Fridays and Saturdays, a two-hour “rail cruise” train package brings visitors from Quebec City directly to the mountain’s gondola for a day of skiing.
