Bora Bora is a destination for lovers, hence rousing nightlife is almost non-existent. Unless you are with someone special, the island at night can easily live up to the nickname "Boring Boring." Resorts do host beach barbecues with music and dancing, and some of the hotel bars are quite stunning, but the crowds tend to thin out after 11pm.

Bubbles Bar

The candle-lit Bubbles Bar at the InterContinental Bora Bora Resort & Thalasso Spa overlooks the lagoon and Mount Otemanu. With its billowing white curtains and Philippe Starck-designed pod chairs, it’s one of the island’s hippest and most romantic evening hideaways.

Tamaaraa

A tamaaraa is a Tahitian feast of fish, pork, chicken, and yams cooked in an underground oven called an ahima’a and accompanied by Polynesian dancing performed by gorgeous costumed men and women. You can experience a version of it during a “Polynesian Night” at most resorts (it’s touristy, but worth it to see what human hips are capable of).
