Agios Sostis Beach

Take a break from thumping beats and crowds at this sandy gem down the road from Panormos, on the northern side.

Kalafatis Beach

On the eastern end of the southern coast, Kalafatis—one of the longest stretches on Mykonos—is usually less crowded than most southern beaches. Find facilities for snorkeling and diving, as well as a windsurf center.

Ornos Beach

The soft golden sand and sheltered cove here are preferred by families. Hourly bus service makes the 1.5 mile trip from Chora to this southwesterly strand.

Panormos Beach

This chill beach with no chairs, a good crowd, and a great restaurant. You’ll need a car to get here – it’s on the northern coast – but it’s worth it for the cool, laid-back vibe.

Paradise and Super Paradise

If paradise means rambling golden sands met by the deep-blue Aegean, beach bars bumping with Euro tunes, bikini-clad bodies dancing on tables, topless girls sprawled on the sand, and an overall hedonistic scene, Paradise Beach on the Greek isle of Mykonos is it. Come summer, hordes of young travelers head out on beach trips here to revel in the sultry thrills and clandestine coves that only Paradise Beach can offer. Dotted with thatched umbrellas and lined with bars, shops, and discos, visitors to these raucous sands enjoy the Mediterranean seascape, soak up some rays, and, come late afternoon, join in a full-blown fiesta right there on the sand. The music slowly starts to escalate and doesn't typically die down before dawn - just in time for sunrise and a morning nap on the sand.

Paraga Beach

Just a 15-minute walk from Platis Yialos, this small sexy beach is bikini-optional and has a strong gay following. The northern end is lined with tavernas.

Platis Yialos Beach

Sports like water-skiing and pedal-boating, plus regular boat service from Chora (2.5 miles away) keep this popular strand packed in high-season. Water taxis shuttle beach-hoppers from Platis Yialos to other popular south coast sand like Paranga and Paradise.

Psarou Beach

The yachting crowd loves this gorgeous, St. Tropez-like stretch. Plenty of chairs (try to snag one from the Psarou Beach Hotel), and the fabulous Nammos restaurant, perched just above the sand, make for an ideal day in the sun.
