Getting to Mumbai

Mumbai’s international airport (BOM) is officially called Chhatrapati Shivaji, but locals still refer to it as Sahar, its former name. The domestic airport is also called Chhatrapati Shivaji, so specify beforehand or refer to it as Santa Cruz, the airport’s old name.

Several international carriers and even some US airlines – Delta, Continental, British Airways, Air India - serve Mumbai’s airport (BOM).

Flight Times

From the East Coast, flights are usually 18 hours, including a stopover in European cities like London, Paris or Frankfurt. From the West Coast, many Asian airlines like Cathay Pacific, Singapore Airlines, and Air India provide service to Mumbai.
