This man-made lake surrounds the Jagniwas (where the Taj Lake Palace is situated) and Jagmandir Islands. While some boats do tour the islands, it’s best to take in views of the lake from Hanuman Ghat and along Lake Palace Road.

Umaid Bhavan

Set on top of Chittar Hill, this palace was the world’s largest private residence, with 347 rooms, by the time it was completed in 1943. Today, it functions as both a museum (check out its impressive clock collection!) and a hotel.
