It’s all about timing. To avoid crowds and inflated prices, we recommend the period between high and low seasons when the weather is fine, places are still open and happy to welcome travelers, and you can explore a destination at your own pace. ShermansTravel experts call this magical time and space continuum the Sweet Spot.

When to go to Udaipur

Peak Season: November to February

The coolest time of year in the desert terrain of Rajasthan, these four months allow for pleasant travel, though hotels can be packed with NRIs (non-resident Indians from the U.S. and U.K.) in town for family weddings. On the bright side, when else will you get to see such lavish, seven-day Bollywood-esque wedding affairs?

Off Season: March to August

Given the extreme temperatures here, the summer-through-monsoon span is the time for hotel renovations and respite. Be prepared for more than 100 degree-plus days if you visit during these months.

Sweet Spot: August to November

You’ll likely get the best bang for your buck during these in-between months, with sparse crowds and bearable temperatures. If you book before peak season, you’ll be able to live like a king, with cash to spare!
