It’s all about timing. To avoid crowds and inflated prices, we recommend the period between high and low seasons when the weather is fine, places are still open and happy to welcome travelers, and you can explore a destination at your own pace. ShermansTravel experts call this magical time and space continuum the Sweet Spot.

When to go to Jerusalem

Peak Season: March to April (Passover); June to August; September to October (High Holidays)

Summer is considered the high season by hotel and tour operators; however, the high temperatures (reaching up to 100 degrees) may deter a few travelers from visiting. Though dates vary from year to year, hotel rates are at their highest during the Jewish High Holidays (usually late September or early October) and Passover (March or April).

Off Season: December to February

Winter in Jerusalem can be extremely cold. Don’t be surprised to experience heavy rains and even the occasional snowstorm. Hotel prices are at their lowest during this time, except for the Christmas/New Year’s period.

Sweet Spot: May; November

May and November are excellent times to visit Jerusalem. Expect temperate weather – warm by day and chilly by night – and better hotel deals.
