Getting to Maldives

Malé International Airport (MIA) is located near the center of the country. Formerly a domestic-only option, Gan International Airport (GAN), on Addu Atoll in the extreme south of the country, now serves direct charters from Europe.

Emirates provides an excellent connection from New York (JFK) via Dubai to Malé. You can also arrive in Dubai in the morning, spend the full day exploring the city, and depart on a late-night flight to Malé. Indian Airlines, Qatar Airways, Singapore Airlines, Malaysian Airlines, and SriLankan Airlines all service Malé International Airport.

Flight Times

14 hours from New York (JFK) to Dubai, then 5 hours to Malé; or, 15 hours from New York to Mumbai, then 5-12 hours (depending on the route and number of stops; most flights go through Colombo, Sri Lanka) to Malé.
