Expert Review

Built in 1968, the Camino Real remains the cornerstone of hotels in Polanco. From its outdoor caldera-like Noguchi sculpture, filled with roiling water, to the colorful lobby mural by Mexican artist Rufino Tamayo, this hotel has an eye for detail and design. Its brightly-colored 712 rooms vary considerably in size, style, and amenities, but if this hotel is good enough for the King and Queen of Spain (who always sleep in the hotel’s Presidential Suite when they’re in town), it should be good enough for you. An on-site fitness center, pool, boutique shops, and eight bars and restaurants (soon to be joined by Morimoto) round out the services available to all guests.
