Expert Review

Everything about El Patio 77 is charming: its owners, Diego Le Provost and Alan Favero, are warm and welcoming; its artwork changes every two months (each exhibit features seven local artists); and its mission is to offer affordable bed-and-breakfast lodging with an eco-friendly emphasis. All of this, plus a delicious Mexican breakfast and a location that’s convenient to the Metro and major sites, including the Zocalo. Each of the eight rooms, named for Mexican states, features antique or handmade furniture, often from rescued wood, as well as locally made handcrafts. The Oaxaca room is particularly spacious, with a massive king size bed and a lovely balcony overlooking the street.
