It’s all about timing. To avoid crowds and inflated prices, we recommend the period between high and low seasons when the weather is fine, places are still open and happy to welcome travelers, and you can explore a destination at your own pace. ShermansTravel experts call this magical time and space continuum the Sweet Spot.

When to go to Cusco

Peak Season: June to September

An influx in visitors from the Northern Hemisphere during these times translates into inflated lodging prices and bigger crowds at the most popular attractions.

Off Season: November to March

Traveling during the wet summer season will give you the most bang for your buck since prices are lower and crowds are smaller; the downside is the unpredictable rainy weather. Luckily, locals are always selling colorful ponchos in times of desperate need.

Sweet Spot: April to May; October

These months – before the weather gets too rainy, or the conditions become unbearably hot – are the ideal to travel. Crowds are pretty thin and rates are very affordable.
