Saint Kitts And Nevis

Nightlife in Nevis runs the spectrum from cocktails in the grand houses of plantation inns to rum punch in beach bars to live music and dancing. But it never takes on the raucous frenzy of some Caribbean destinations – in fact, you won’t find a casino or club anywhere on the island. To make sure everyone gets their share of business, the action moves from night to night, with bars and watering holes each claiming a specific day of the week. Evenings out usually start around 9pm, and on weekends the party goes until the last person straggles out of the bar – sometimes not until 4am, but usually earlier, around 2am or so.

Eddy's Bar & Restaurant

On Wednesdays, the action is at Eddy’s, a popular second-story restaurant and local expat hangout in Charlestown named after its affable owner. Menu favorites include conch fritters, hamburgers, and fish and chips, but the main course for the evening is the dancing – in the evening, tables are cleared for a makeshift dance floor. On the weekends, karaoke and music spun by a local DJ pump into the wee hours.

Oualie Beach Hotel

Located right on the sand at the launching point for several sailing charters, this open-air bar draws hotel guests and locals alike with live music and dancing on Fridays. On Saturdays, a local string band takes center stage.

V's Courtyard

This former residential property turns into a popular hotspot on the weekends, with live music and dancing in the backyard garden area. Patrons, a mix of locals and expats, feast on Nevisian specialties for dinner - favorites include fried saltfish (cod), Johnny cakes (fried dumplings), and cook-up (a rice dish chock full of chicken, pork, fish, and peas) - before dancing it off to soca tunes until the wee hours.
