Expert Review

Opened in 1963, this converted 17th century warehouse is one of the oldest still-operating hotels on St. Kitts. During its heyday, the Inn was one of the most elegant spots in town, but in recent years it's succumbed to some decline. Hopefully, the current management – who also oversee Rawlins Plantation Inn – will invest some time and money to bring it back to its former glory, since all of the basics are all still here. The Inn has eight spacious rooms in the plantation-style Great House and ten more seaside villas set along a small strip of beach popular with local fishermen. Each is individually furnished with antique mahogany or metal four poster beds, high ceilings, rattan accents, and white plank floors; some rooms have porches, and villas have private plunge pools, but none of the accommodations have phones or TVs The main kitchen prepares a daily-changing menu of Continental and West Indian fare, which can be served in the main Great House dining room, on the second-floor porch, or in the tangled garden by the pool.
