Immerse yourself in the world of gourmet cuisine with cooking classes on Oceania Cruises’ Marina and Riviera. Specially designed Culinary Centers have full teaching kitchens equipped with individual induction cooktops and workstations, where you can learn how to make regional dishes from destinations around the world.

Several cruise lines include computer classes in their offerings. Holland America’s complimentary Digital Workshops are led by "techsperts" who teach photo uploading, sharing, and editing; online scrapbooking; and basic messaging and security. Crystal Cruises’ Computer University@Sea provides lessons for both Mac and Windows users on 25 state-of-the-art workstations.

With these classes, you can expand your photography skills and learn some new tricks. Several lines, including Princess Cruises and Crystal Cruises, offer basic classes, while expedition lines like Lindblad Expeditions and Un-Cruise Adventures offer photography-themed trips with professional photographers who help you capture the best images both on board and on land.

On Princess Cruises' Island Princess and Coral Princess, the wet clay pottery program allows you to work the wheel and “throw” your own pot, vase, or bowl. With the line's Ceramics@Sea program, you'll glaze and paint a ready-made ceramic piece, then fire up the kilns to let it cure. 

Holland America’s Culinary Arts Center brings pastry chefs and chocolatiers like Jacques Torres on board to teach in a world-class demonstration kitchen. You can also take a class in cake decorating, and show off your new skills at celebrations back home.  

Wouldn’t you love to give your friends, family, and social network a peak into your amazing cruise adventure? Crystal Cruises offers a five-class program in digital video editing. You'll learn to shoot video on an iPad and edit it using iMovie — and be able to premiere your movie by the end of the course.

Making cultural connections is an important part of travel. Classes on Paul Gauguin Cruises teach you the traditions of French Polynesia with introductions to the Tahitian language and dances, and how to tie a “pareo,” the colorful, flower-patterned wraparound garment worn by most men and women. On Avalon Waterways' Irrawaddy River cruise in Myanmar, you will visit a local school and temple and take a class in how to wear the “longyi,” the national costume.
