Zion Lodge — Zion National Park, Utah

Surrounded by red sandstone cliffs, this lodge is the only hotel in Zion National Park — and it comes with a valuable perk. Hotel guests can drive into the park instead of waiting for a shuttle during the park’s busier months, spring through fall. The property is also conveniently located next to popular trailheads like the Grotto Trail and Angels Landing via the West Rim Trail. Plus, it’s across the street from the stables.

Rooms go for as little as $170, but the real trick is getting one. If you want to stay during the summer, book your stay at least a year in advance.

Best time to visit: Coinciding with the park’s low season (December through February), the property offers special winter rates and packages to lure in travelers.
