Elite Island Resorts new all-inclusive, adults-only Hammock Cove opened on December 1. Here, guests can relax in one of 42 water-view or waterfront villas, all equipped with private plunge pools and king beds, along with free minibar items and complimentary wifi. Hammock Cove will also have an in-house rum sommelier. A seven-night minimum stay is required, and rates start at $883 per night, depending on the season (based on two adults, includes complimentary night). 

This month, over two years after Hurricane Irma swept the British Virgin Islands, Rosewood Little Dix Bay on Virgin Gorda will make its comeback. Here, guests can choose from a mix of accommodations, including cottages, suites, and villas. Over on the French side of St. Martin comes one of AMResorts’ newest properties. Built on the site of a former RIU resort, this adults-only retreat will open on February 1. Every one of the 258 suites open up to a private balcony. All-inclusive rates cover all meals at six dining options — three à la carte restaurants, a grill, a café, and a buffet — as well as top-shelf spirits and poolside cocktail service. Rates from $517 per night, depending on the season. 

Located on the northern shore of Dominican Republic — a world apart from the seemingly endless stretch of mega resorts in Punta Cana — you'll find the recently opened Club Med Michés Playa Esmeralda, the chain's first new Caribbean property in 25 years. Michès is a self-described “eco-chic” property and earned a Green Globe certification for its sustainable construction and operation efforts. Plus, the property has solar panels throughout, a ban on single-use plastics, and employee uniforms made from recycled plastic bottles. Rates from $1,829 per adult (depending on the season) based on a seven-night stay.

The boutique hotel void in Montego Bay was finally filled by S Hotel when it debuted last January. For those looking to escape the all-inclusive resort bubble, S Hotel is ideal. Situated on the public Doctor’s Cave Beach, the property's rooms and public spaces are adorned with local art work and serves up classic Caribbean fare like Escovitch fish and rum punch. Marriott’s signature St. Thomas property, Frenchman's Reef Resort & Spa (now renamed Frenchman's Cove), has been under repair since Hurricane Irma hit. However, the resort is set to reopen within the next year. Expect the same dramatic cliffside views of the sea as well as a new infinity pool with a swim-up bar. Marriott Autograph Collection’s first foray into the U.S. Virgin Islands will open alongside its revamped sister resort, Frenchman’s Cove. This brand-new property is comprised of a series of 94 beachfront villa-style accommodations. Other highlights include an infinity edge pool (complete with a swim-up bar), and a 3,000-square-foot ballroom. Rates have not yet been released.

The Spice Isle’s all-inclusive luxury options expand on March 1 with the opening of Royalton Grenada Resort and Spa on Magazine Beach. While this is an expansion of the former Starfish Resort, the new Royalton has revamped the property with four restaurants, an outdoor pool, four bars and lounges, a spa, and 261 accommodations. Rates from $295 per night, depending on the season. 

Dreams Curaçao is set to open in the coming weeks, and it will be one of the few all-inclusive options on the island. The property is conveniently situated on two beaches, a stones throw from downtown Willemstad. Dine at seven restaurants, take a dip in three outdoor swimming pools, indulge in a spa treatment, or simply relax in your room and take advantage of 24-hour room service. Jimmy Buffet expands his Margaritaville resort empire to the Bahamas. Margaritaville at The Pointe in Nassau is expected to open on June 1, 2020. Entertainment will abound at this seven-acre property featuring a movie theater, bowling alley, outdoor performance stage, an open-air shopping mall, a water slide tower, surf simulator, and much more. French boutique hotel chain Barrière Hotel’s latest property will open to the public February 1, 2020. Overlooking Gustavia’s glitzy harbor, the hotel offers suite, loft, and bungalow accommodations, each featuring private pools, terraces, and ocean views. Famed chef Pierre Gagnaire created a brasserie-inspired menu that integrates local produce and seafood for one of the hotel’s two restaurants. Rates from $769 per night, depending on the season.

However, don't come here in search of pristine beaches.
