You’ll see all your favorites from the moment you arrive, when Mickey and Minnie greet you in the terminal and sometimes as you board, too. Later that night, Donald and Daisy host a sail away party that’s perfect for amusing the littlest cruisers, complete with a stage show and streamers.

Magic Moment: Look for characters on Castaway Cay, Disney Cruise Line’s private island in the Bahamas, for the perfect photo op by the sea.

Sign up in advance for the meet-and-greet with these popular stars, as tickets tend to go fast. Disney Wonder and Disney Magic have “Frozen”-themed sea days with deck parties on Alaska and Europe sailings, and Disney Wonder also has a “Frozen” stage show — a full production of the story — that you won’t want to miss.

Magic Moment: In the kids clubs on Disney Wonder, you’ll also find Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post, which is home to interactive and iPad-based games, too. Plus, there are “animated” windows, with snow falling on hills. In addition, Oaken occasionally “pops up” in a window to say he’s in the sauna and will be out soon. But the best part: Elsa and Anna perform a coronation ceremony for the little girls on board, a highlight for many of the little ones.

Characters on Board: Jake, Sofia the First, Doc McStuffins

Check out the new “Sofia the First”-themed space in the Oceaneer Club on Disney Wonder, a don’t-miss space for the under-5 set, who flock here for crafts such as decorating your own medieval-style princess hat, just like Sofia would wear.

Magic Moment: Sofia hosts a magic class that keeps the kids spellbound, but it’s only once per sailing so you want to be sure to read the daily schedule.

Characters on Board: Cinderella, Ariel, Belle, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty

Another event you’ll want to be sure to get tickets for: the weekly meet-and-greet Princess Gathering with the princesses in the atrium, where little girls line up in the hallways for autographs and a chance to pose with each of their idols.

Magic Moment: Disney Wonder now has Tiana’s Place, a Cajun-themed restaurant with a jazz band, beignets, and Tiana herself.

Characters on Board:  Darth Vader, Stormtroopers, Chewbacca, C-3PO

Disney Dream has been outfitted with the world’s best "Star Wars"-themed playroom, complete with a Millennium Falcon cockpit (that you can shift into hyperdrive) and Jedi Training Academy classes with furniture you can move with lightsabers.

Magic Moment: On some Caribbean sailings on Disney Fantasy, you’ll find a full “Star Wars” sea day with movie screenings and photo ops and a deck party with fireworks and dancing with the stormtroopers.

Characters on Board: Spiderman, Thor, Captain America, Black Widow

Another Oceaneer Club space you don’t want to miss on Disney Magic and Disney Wonder is the Marvel Super Hero Academy, where six different classes are taught. Here, in a “former shield bunker,” Captain America teaches courage and teamwork and the importance of standing up for those who need help. (He also guides the kids through some craft time, where they make shields and capes.) Another good one to catch: Black Widow teaches Secret Agent 101, with an elaborate laser grid maze, and Spiderman teaches Common Sense, complete with a giant web-inspired ropes course. (Expect plenty of wall crawling in that one.)

Magic Moment: On Disney Magic, the new Marvel sea day includes a comic book library, a party with both the heroes and the villains, a costume parade, a movie marathon, and comic drawing classes, too.
