Getting to Sri Lanka


Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB) at Katunayake, approximately 19 miles north of Colombo, is Sri Lanka’s sole international airport.


There are no direct flights to Sri Lanka from the U.S., but the following airlines offer connecting flights that originate in New York City (JFK): Sri Lankan Airlines flies through London, Paris, and Frankfurt; Emirates flies through Dubai; others include Qatar Air (via Doha), Kuwait Air (via Kuwait), Thai (via Bangkok) and Singapore (via Singapore).

Flight Times

Flight duration from New York through London and on to Colombo is approximately 16 hours. Add another 7 hours if you have to connect from the West Coast.
