Expert Review

Once upon a time, Grace Bay Beach was 12 straight miles of uninterrupted coastline and the idea of luxury hotels was a world away. That’s the era when two-story Sibonné Beach Hotel was built. You won’t find fancy soaps, a spa, or DVD players here (although there is cable, complimentary Wi-Fi, and a modest pool), but if you’re planning your trip with a tight budget in mind, then Sibonné is one of your best bets. As one of the first hotels built on Grace Bay Beach, Sibonné’s location is enviable, and it’s never more than a few short paces from Sibonné’s 28 rooms to the beach’s talcum powder sand – which puts you closer to it than most large resorts. To be sure, the premier beachfront and ocean-view rooms are the nicest ones (starting at $165 per night in low season), but there are also courtyard-facing “value rooms” starting at $110 and a one-bedroom “beach apartment,” starting at $285. As a small hotel, Sibonné is also popular for destination weddings. Its restaurant, Bay Bistro, is similarly popular for local fare.
