Kaiyó

For a twist on the Key's phenomenal seafood, this restaurant offers "Florida-infused Asian cuisine." Expect sushi, Saki, and dumplings, and specialty dishes like pork with Thai red curry sauce, and teriyaki chicken with tempura asparagus. Prices may be a bit higher than most area restaurants, but the chef prepares them with meticulous attention to detail in an artsy dining environment.

Keys Fisheries

Although it's a bit of a drive from Islamorada (about 45 minutes), this popular dining spot is worth the detour, not only for the tasty fare at the casual seafood eatery, but for its atmospheric setting amidst a fish market and marina. Restaurant tables are set on an outdoor patio on a dock over the water - don't be surprised to have large fish and pelicans cluster nearby. Self-service meal orders are made at a window, off a menu board mounted on the wall - order pickups are called out based on the theme of the day (via the name of your favorite movie, song, etc.). The menu consists almost entirely of fresh seafood, but their all-time specialty is the lobster Reuben sandwich.

Lorelei

Cabana bars and live music set the tone for sunset entertainment at this waterfront restaurant, but in-the-know early risers head here for its impressive breakfast. There are few surprises on the menu, just good old-fashioned pancakes, omelets, French Toast, and Bloody Marys to wash it all down. Lunch and dinner items include sandwiches, burgers, and seafood dishes.
