Expert Review

Making an indelible mark as Hell's Kitchen first downright upscale property, Ink48 by Kimpton entered Manhattan’s saturated hotel scene in style. The playful urban retreat pays homage to its printing house past by accentuating the original features of the structure – the 1930s building by David Rockwell showcases colossal windows, soaring ceilings, and a three-story rooftop addition by architect Carlos Zapata. Inside the 17-floor hideaway, 222 guestrooms come fashioned like loft spaces, with original columns and sweeping views of the Hudson and the Midtown skyline. Cool in-room touches include large-scale artwork, textured stone accent walls, and leopard-print bathrobes. We say yes to free Wi-Fi, the evening wine hour in the hotel’s living room lobby, and complimentary morning coffee and tea. The lobby-level PRINT restaurant serves market-to-table fare featuring local and regional produce. Indulge in signature cocktails in the lobby clad in glass, stone, and leather next door at the Dens, or take in panoramic city views while sampling small plates and cocktails from PRESS rooftop restaurant and lounge.
