Expert Review

Housed in the downtown Fulton Building, a historic structure dating from 1906, the stately Renaissance Hotel is a city landmark. The elegant interiors, filled with antique furniture and accented with marble, remind visitors of gentler days, while iHome accessories and creative cocktails keep the property grounded in the 21st century. The 300 guest rooms and suites are impeccably maintained and feature high ceilings, plush bedding, down pillows, and, in some cases, great views over the river and PNC ballpark (head to the top floors, numbers 8-14, for the best vantage points. The service, too, is old-fashioned – everyone from the bellhop to the bartender mixing drinks at the popular Bridge Bar is professional and gracious. A separate martini bar and the Opus Restaurant (serving New American cuisine) round out the hotel’s fine food and drink venues.
