Jackson Hole

Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce
It’s all about timing. To avoid crowds and inflated prices, we recommend the period between high and low seasons when the weather is fine, places are still open and happy to welcome travelers, and you can explore a destination at your own pace. ShermansTravel experts call this magical time and space continuum the Sweet Spot.

When to go to Jackson Hole

Peak Season: Late June to September

Because it is the gateway to both Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks, Jackson is one of the nation’s only major ski towns that is busier in summer than winter, with high season rates all summer long.

Off-Season: Late April to May; October to November

When the ski area is closed and the weather for visiting the National Parks is not appealing, Jackson turns into a ghost town and many businesses close.

Sweet Spot: December to April

Jackson is arguably the best ski mountain in the United States, yet thanks to a plethora of lodging aimed at the summer crowds, winter (except for the busiest holiday weeks) costs about a third less than peak summer season and less than most comparable Western ski towns.
