Las Vegas has so many hotels it can make your head spin. From the glittering mega-resorts to old-school gems, Sin City is chock-full of fantastic properties. Our advice? Get off the Strip -- just a few miles -- to see a different side of the city. And dare we say a better side? Escape to one that offers stunning canyon vistas, a laid-back pace, and a resort where locals flock for dining and entertainment. And if you get an itch to hit the Strip, find a place that offers shuttle service that will get you there quickly -- and for free. The Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa ticks off all those boxes. Located on 70 acres of land close to the magnificent Red Rock mountains, we offer a peek into this premier property that's everything you love about Vegas -- only better.
What’s Hot: The fitness center. From vertical wall yoga and In-Trinity board classes (akin to a suspended mini surfboard, and way fun), to a personal Bod Pod assessment with nutrition and fitness consultation, classes here are like none we've ever seen at the gym, let alone a hotel.
Best Feature: The Spa at Red Rock by Well & Being. The 25,000 square-foot spa offers a stunning space for pre- and post treatments with a fragrant eucalyptus-infused steam room, hot and cold tubs, a dry sauna, and dedicated pool area with cabanas. Treatments include an aromatherapy-infused Nirvana Stress Relief treatment, sleep-inducing Sweet Dreams Aromatherapy Wrap, and an Alpine Arnica Deep Tissue Massage. The spa is also the first non-medical facility in the U.S. to offer renowned Lancer facial and body treatments, such as the Lancer Glow anti-aging facial and the hydrating Sparkle and Glow Body Polish treatment, which adjusts the body’s pH to reveal extra glow-y skin.
The Rooms: Here, rooms range from a deluxe king, outfitted with a Calcutta marble bathroom and a deep soaking tub to signature suites, with over 1,000-square feet of space that feels more like an apartment with one or two bedrooms, one-and-a-half bathrooms, and a parlor area with wet bar. Or there's the 7,500-square-foot One 80 penthouse-level suite, named for the 180-degree view of the Strip and Red Rock mountain range. This ultra-posh pad includes an entertaining area, complete with a massive bar, 90-inch TV, billiards table, a large terrace with a hot tub and rotating sofa; along with two bedrooms with adjoining bathrooms, hot tubs, and private balconies. (Currently, rooms start at $150 per night including taxes and resort fee.)
The Food: The property offers a myriad of dining options, from T-Bones that features prime steaks and a gorgeous seafood tower to Hearthstone Kitchen & Cellar's seasonal and sustainable dishes that pair with hand-crafted cocktails. Along with fine dining options, there's a noodle bar and 24-hour diner (plus loads more on restaurant row).
Who Will Love It: Those who've been there, done that with the Strip often discover this hotel and never go back. The property is perfect for girlfriend getaways and offers sparties ("spa" plus "party"), and is also the ideal hub for business travelers hosting a conference.
Who Might Not: Hard-partying types. Expect lively bars and poolside cocktails, but if you're looking for raucous bachelor parties that rage until 6 a.m., this might not be your scene.
Nearby: The very nearby Red Rock Canyon offers amazing hikes; it feels worlds away from the Vegas you know from TV and guidebooks. Directly across the street from the hotel is Downtown Summerlin, which touts over 125 retail shops, restaurants, a movie theater, and bowling alley.
