With New York City’s Broadway Week underway, it’s a perfect time to visit the Big Apple. The biannual promotion, which ends on February 5, offers two-for-one tickets to some of the Great White Way’s most popular productions, like Aladdin, The Lion King, Matilda, and Jersey Boys. And if you need somewhere to lay your head after a night of fun, The New York Hilton Midtown might be just the ticket.

The hotel -- the city’s largest -- is close to the sparkling marquees of Broadway and has designated a Broadway Butler to give guests insight on current and upcoming shows, show times, and even where to grab a bite to eat before or after the show; find him stationed in the hotel lobby at the Theatre Desk. To top it off, you can find rates for the property as low as $179 a night on select dates in February -- a steal in pricey Midtown. As of this afternoon, we found rooms available at this price on February 9, 21, 22, and 23 as well as March 1 and 2, with slightly higher rates on other days.

The property is fresh off a 2014 renovation that gave rooms a facelift, redesigned the lobby areas and ballroom, and introduced a new dining concept called Herb N’ Kitchen -- a gourmet cafe-market hybrid where you can dine in, grab and go, or have a brown bag delivered to your room. (We especially like its delicious personal pizzas, fresh from the hotel's own wood-burning oven, for around $16.) The rest of the guestroom refurbishment project is expected to be completed by 2016, but for now guests will benefit from the addition of bathtubs in some rooms -- back by popular demand from those who love a leisurely soak -- convenient mobile electrical outlets, dimmable lamps, and 55-inch flatscreen TVs. Rooms have been updated in soothing blues and grays, while velvet lounge chairs beckon you to kick back and take in the city views.

As we were testing out the Broadway-themed promotion, we also were pleasantly surprised to find that the hotel has rates even lower than $179 during its January Flash Sale -- but you'll have to act fast, considering there are only a few more days left to the month. Here's what we found: For a one night stay on January 30, 31 or February 1, rooms are going for $129. If you stay for one night February 5-8, rooms are priced at $149.
