Capella Marigot Bay Resort & Marina, snug on the shoreline along Marigot Bay in Saint Lucia, is the newest member of the Cappella Hotels brand (joining others in Düsseldorf, Singapore, and more). Since it's re-opening last fall, the 124-room resort has charmed travelers with a taste for luxury with riots of tropical foliage everywhere you turn. And to kick off its first summer, the resort is offering a 50 percent discount off its suites, to make that luxury more affordable for all of us.
The sale is good for stays through October 31, starting from $275 per night for a one-bedroom, 914-square-foot Resort View suite (yes, that's plenty of room to spread out). You can also choose from two- and three-bedroom suites for the traveling clan.
We're happy to report that a quick test unearthed consistent savings throughout the summer: one-bedroom Resort View suites are indeed $275 per night, while Bay View suites are only slightly higher at $295. (A regular room is only $50 less, at $225.) We found those same exact rates for weekdays in June, over July 4 weekend, and in May. For comparison, you'd pay a whopping $1,295 per night during Christmas week for the same type of accommodations.
Free WiFi is included in rates -- as is a welcome cocktail and a daily afternoon amenity delivered to your suite. Each room is also stocked with complimentary snacks, water, juices, and soft drinks that are replenished daily, to add even more value to the rate. The suites are all decorated in hip turquoise, coral, and gold and white hues, along with contemporary furniture and hardwood floors. Sheer white curtains create a canopy effect for the beds, while the open-plan kitchen, espresso machine, and Bose Surround sound music system all add to a home-away-home feel. There's a private patio or balcony, too, to soak up a view of landscaped gardens, and some rooms have a hot tub.
You can also enhance a stay with experiences like rum-blending classes or with some pampering at Auriga Spa, which offers treatments inspired by the phases of the moon. Onsite, you can tuck into meals at four restaurants that fold in locally grown foods, from small plates and rum at the Rum Cave to Caribbean jerked chicken al fresco at The Grill at 14⁰61⁰.
